[Northkeep] Linen is OK

It will have to wait until I get there. I will still be in Texas at populace. Thank you. I am sure others would like it.
By the way I am not telling people to not wear linen. I wear linen and love it. I just pointed it out as one of the weird things we do in the SCA. 
For example 
Bowing to the empty throne. I can not find the  period custom and I have been looking for over 30 years.  As far as I know and according to Robert Asprin there was a King of the Middle , Thay?? who didn't want to be bowed at so he stated that Kings come and go but the throne stays so you should bow to the throne not him. The Dark Horde made some really funny songs about that. 
In the First 15 years of Ansteorra we didn't bow to the thrones and I still don't. I feels too much like genuflecting in the Catholic church. By the way you only kneel when the light is on and God is there. If that is good enough for God it should be good enough for our Kings. 
The question has been asked whether we should bow to the thrones when during the period that we have no King or Queen and the Crown is on the chair because during that time they take the place of our King. 
I am still thinking about that . What do you think?
