[Northkeep] Castellan Volunteers

Greetings Northkeep!
Hi all! Its that time of year again! wInterKingdom has come and gone,
and now we are on to Castellan! Now it's time for us to ask for
volunteers again, that we may show the whole of Ansteorra, why we,
Northkeep, are the Jewel of the North. Our light shines upon all!

Have you ever wanted to help out at an event, but didn't know what
was needed, where to get started, who to talk to, what to do, wondered
what you were qualified to do, wanted to learn HOW to do it? Have you
ever wanted to herald a list? Herald the site (yes! you get to yell
& wake people up! *just remember to duck those flying boots..*) Are
you a journeyman Chirurgeon needing hours, or interested in becoming
one? Have you ever wanted to sit a gate/troll shift? Are you a field
marshal? Feel like being fighter support? Or wanted to serve a feast?
(or even learn to cook by assisting in the kitchen) Even if you only
have time to call one site announcement, 30mins to chop vegetables,
wash a few dishes, or are available to help all day, every little
moment is greatly appreciated!

 Below We have listed a short description of common areas where
volunteers are needed to help an event run, Good gentles of every age,
experience, & manner,  welcome!

Please
know that by sending Us this information, you are in no way, required
or confirmed to assist in any manner at Castellan. This is simply an
organizational tool & tentative list of possible volunteers, &
will allow us to better plan around weak areas of staffing, and will
also allow us to plan (in some cases) experienced volunteers to pair up
with inexperienced (ie: heralds, gate shifts, those type of areas)
Allowing us to offer the smoothest & pleasurable event to all.

Heraldry : List: calls salutes/bouts on the list field. MeatGrinder specific: Calls combatants number to the List Mistress             
                    upon entering the field, & calls number of Victor unpon exiting the field. 
                 Site: (As needed) Calls general announcements site wide.
                 Court: act as the voice of the Royals/Nobles. (named by their respective Royals/Nobles)

List Side:  Fighter Support: (formerly called Water Bearers) Feed & Watering of Combatants, Archers, & general Populas. (will report to Ldy Abby)
                 Chirurgeon: First
Aide for Combatants, Archers, & general Populas. (Must be Warranted
Chirugeon, or Chirugeon in Training, will Report to 
                                     Chirugeon in Charge)


Site Set-up:  List: Assisting in setting up List Field, Pavillions around Lists, tables for List Mistresses & Fighter Support
                     Archery Field: Assist setting up Archery Field, targets, tables for Fighter Support, Shade Pavillion(s) for Archers & Spectators
                     Hall: Arranging tables for A&S, Decorating of the Hall, Arranging tables (mid afternoon) for Feast, etc

Site Tear down: List: Breakdown
Pavillions & List fields, store in appropriate containers to
correct baronial/royal trailers, clean up any trash around area.
                          Archery Field: breakdown pavillions, tables, targets, return to appropriate trailers, clean up any trash around area.
                          Hall: Remove decorations, return tables to original BoyScout Layout, sweep & mop.
                          Kitchen: Return dishes & utensils to appropriate trailers, owners. 
                          General Clean-up: Walk the site, check campsites for trash, lost&found, etc

Children's Activities: Assist Minister of Children with planned Children's Activities. 

Gate: Work a shift checking in the populas as they arrive on site. Collect
appropriate fees, hand out site flyers & site/feast tokens. (If
interested, pls let me 
          know if you are experienced or not, at working gate/troll. So we can prepare accordingly. Will report to Reeve)


Security:Fire Watch: Works a shift (Fri or Sat night), walks rounds of site, watching for
uncontrolled/unattended fires, empties smokers cans when 
                                   applicable
(coffe cans placed around site for smokers to place their butts.) 
               "NastyCrat": Checks
bathrooms for toilet paper, paper towels, cleanliness, off & on
throughout the day. Pulls trash from trash bins to the 
                                   dumpster as
needed

Kitchen: *Feast
Steward retains the right of refusal for those in kitchen. Pls do NOT go
into the Kitchen unless you are an approved helper there.*
                Prep: assist in preparation of the food. Chopping, mixing, cooking, etc, at the Direction of the Feast Steward
                Help: assist during feast, in the Kitchen, plating food, cooking, washing dishes, etc, at the Direction of the Feast Steward
                Clean-up: washes dishes, wiping down kitchen
cabinets, cleaning equipment used in prep&plating, sweep & mop
(during Court, will report to 
                                 Ldy Kale)
                Servers: Serve
plated dishes/drinks to assigned tables. May be assigned to serve only
drinks, or only foods. (at the descretion of Head Server)  
                               *Head Server shall be named by Feast Steward & will report to the Feast Steward*

Also, I reiterate, that by sending your information, you are by NO
means, confirming that you will be at Castellan, that you will be
available for everything that you volunteer for. We know that Life
happens, and Life should be lived, both in the Dream that is this game
we play, & in the Mundane, that we all Live. 
This is simply an organizational tactic that will give us an idea of
where we stand volunteer wise, & who in the populas is interested in
learning (and what areas). I will be in contact with all who send me their information,
as we get closer to Castellan's date & we clarify the needs of the
event.
