Hi Again,

Well, yes. My friends, associates, etc. all think I'm too much a
perfectionist. and that's probably true. My tents last, they hold up in
wind/rain/vicious storms, etc., but I don't think I've got it right yet.

If I could time travel I would go to Field of Cloth of Gold and watch them
erect those tents!

Anyway, I am delighted to be corresponding with you all at last. It's
amazing what giving up a territorial baronage can do for one's peace of
mind!

The one thing that I've noticed over the years, is the tendency for folks
to make tents more complicated than they are. They really are quite
simple, the less complicated the better they seem to work. The only thing
is all that fabric can be somewhat daunting. There is always a point when
I do a tent that I truly don't think it will ever come together--but they
do. And when they are finally set up---wow! what a high! Suddenly the
tent is its own entity--it has an essence that is beyond the maker, beyond
that pile of fabric on the dining room table...

Now you all really think I'm batty, which I am, of course, or I wouldn't
have gotten into this in the first place. I started out because I wanted
a tent of my own and I kept finding myself saying "next time, I'll try..."

Thanks again for getting my juices going...

Barbary
