You will probably want the rope to continue the same angle as your roof line. It
keeps a consistent pull on the seam, and uses the strenth of the roof to help
hold your walls out and your roof taut.  If you are using blocks to thread the
rope through, you will want extra for that, and for the amount going through the
wall, and the knots.  Also, if your rope is natural fiber, it will contact when
wet, so allow for that.  When it doubt, cut it long, and hack off the extra
later :)
