There is a lot of information available for that question :)  .  Many people
think of the black goat-hair tents of the Bedouin when they think of Middle
Eastern tents, but there is a wide variety, depending on region and tribe.  You
could do round, wedge, conical, or belled tents, or have a yurt.  There is an
article online with a design for a Middle Eastern Tent (article written by
Stephen and Amanda Baker, Australia).  The references lists at the bottom
include links to illustrations, and there are some great references there.  I
love the look of those tents--great colors and patterns, beautiful woodwork,
very rich in appearance.

If you get a chance, you may want to check out Torvald Faegre's excellent book,
"Tents: Architecture of the Nomads".  Since it's about $70 a pop through a used
book seller, try the library. :)
