hiya,

here are some websites that some might find useful.
Yes, I know that they primarily aim for the Rev/F&I
war/Buckskinning
crowd. But - thems the guys that have the money... and they
do
EVERYTHING period style...

those thingys that you use to hold candles on a pole will be
at one
of these sites...

So will period lighting... hope this is of some help to
whomeever

this has more than just merchants.
I do rendevous... these guys truly do it period... the do
NOT mix
mundane tenting with period stuff... thre is no 'attempt' to
dress period
[that means no bunny furs or elf ears] you either are or you
ain't and if you ain't you leave.. unless it is flatlander
days, where the general public comes in to shop.
this list has many private websites, but there is all ot of
info for the period renactor that can be very useful to the
sca..

btw.... thrift stores,.... any hand embrodiered
tablecloth...been seeing a lot of smaller one's later...
suspect theywere the one's like my mom used on her 'card
table' when bridge was the craze...they are smaller and
perfect for covering up plastic totes.. they also fit those
new tables that fold up to a tiny bag...ya known, the bottom
is like the chairs that have become so popular, the top is
wood slats... be creative in your
searching of household linens.. found a flannel sheet that
made a dandy cover for my clothing rack.
To make a period ice chest... you take 1 x 3 and make a
box... line it with styrofoam, thick.. use marine sealant.
yes, it works... seen it uses for years.. or you make a box
with the 1 x3's and slide your mundae cooler in.. to be
honest the former method results in a better cooler...

There is a series of books... the buckskinning series.. at
last count there were 8 of them. All well researched
articles, with documentation..that once appeared in
muzzleloader magazine.
Now in bound form. they cover everything from making period
clothing to tanning, and making small trunks... it is aimed
at the late 17th century but when one starts to read them,
one realizes that much of the information in them is worth
owning... they cost me about &15 each...
There is an article in one of period lighting...the second
book has the costuming. Belth Gilgun is the auther...it is
very, very, very good...
diagrams and all...
