[Ravensfort] RavensMarch Event and Our Stepping Down

Greetings,

For those that were not at the RavensMarch event this weekend, you 
missed a great event and......

(drum roll.....)

Our stepping down from the thrones of Raven's Fort.

Most know that I have been working and living during the week in Austin, 
working for TxDOT.

We have been planning for some time to step down, but there were a 
number of events, issues and plans that had to be put into place before 
we were able to do so.

Those plans came to fruit recently and thus, we choose RavensMarch for 
the place for us to petition the Crown to allow us to step down and 
place upon the thrones of Raven's Fort persons that the Crown of 
Ansteorra deemed suitable to protect and care for the Barony until our 
successors could be chosen when the time and people were right.

TRM's granted us this request and placed Sir Kief and Mistress Lorraine 
  upon the Raven's Fort thrones as Vicar and Vicaress of Raven's Fort.

Now.......

We (Kezia and I) ask that ALL support them and help them lead and 
continue to grow the Barony as we have tried and done so over the past 
three and a half years.

There will be challenges for the Barony, such as membership, travel, 
learning the ways of the SCA and growing in the organization from the 
old party hardy days to what the SCA is really suppose to be.....which 
is an......Educational, re-creation and research organization that 
concentrates on the time period between 400AD to about 1600AD.

There have been many new persons come to the group and they are 
learning. Help each and all grow. No one knows it all. Move forward, 
never backward and do not tolerate those that try to drag one or the 
group down.

As we depart for the lands of Bryn Gwlad, we challenge those that remain 
to strive into the mainstream of the current SCA, through travel, 
research, learning and to become more period in your chosen persona.

Look forward to what can be done, not what has been done.

Leave the doubters behind and show the Kingdom what Raven's Fort can 
really be and how to do it.

We will return, when we can, to visit. Arturus and Melina are remaining 
in Raven's Fort to attend the place of learning on the hill.

We have many memories of deeds, battles and fondness for many in the 
barony and will miss most of them.

Just never loose site of the purpose of the group. Don't be lead astray.

So, with a final tip of our coronets....
