[Ravensfort] Lights are Back On and the Helicopters are Gone....

Greetings--
 
Well thankfully the lights are back on now....
 
If anyone had power last night and was watching the 9 or 10 pm newscasts in
the Houston area and wondered if the power plant they were talking about was
the one near my house--Your right it was that very same one--it was the was
the one that was the center of the 7 county power outage.
 
I wasn't home (in the Woodlands with my mom--boy was that fun with NONE of
the traffic lights working), but neighbors that were said it sounded like a
bunch of large firecrackers were going off in the plant.  And that was
BEFORE the fire broke out in one of the turbines and it seemed like almost
every fire truck in the county was converging onto Longstreet Road--It was
interesting looking up at the sky and seeing 4 or 5 helicopters hovering or
moving around the plant (and our subdivision) to get their footage (and live
shots).  
 
Limited power came back to us about 9:30-10:00 (pretty good since they had
originally said it could take a couple of days to get it back on), but
because of the surges and on/off nature of the electricity most of us here
didn't turn on the main breakers to our homes until about 11 pm (Mike and I
now have a generator that we can use the next time one is needed at
site--got it after a fast trip to Conroe to Lowe's and got one of the last
ones).
 
Hopefully there won't be any more excitement like that around here for
awhile.
