Heilsa all...

Your "Deep Apology" accepted. Although your "outrage" was clearly false and without basis...

However, the law is clear, as is the SCA's policy on alcohol.

No
one may sell any type of alcohol through any means including the buying
of ingredients, pre-sales, post-sales, or on-the-spot sales. These are
all clear attempts at an "end run" around Federal and/or State
regulations.

Now if you want to give it away...please do. No money can change hands...period, in any way, shape, or form.

The
SCA does deal directly with the land owners...I am a member of the SCA
and the local landowner that approached the Dorrell and Rohe families
about the SCA using their ranch as an event site back in 1987. You
didn't even play with Raven's Fort back then.

The efforts of the
Brewers Guild can certainly be "displayed" in private campsites as part
of a revel as well as a part of an A&S display.

No taverns.

The "Kiersted Mead Hall" is part of a private campsite and not a tavern.

Leaving a fire burning in the old "Tavern" during a period of dryness and high winds, with witnesses to the fact, is not "...for fabricated infractions"...get over it.

What
is sad is the fact that you are still trying to "rule" the Barony from
behind the scenes...whereas I have moved on and have largely forgotten
about all of this...until you bring it all up again...

Have a
great day...I shall... I am also really looking forward to this year's
Defender of the Fort, it's shaping up to be an excellent event.

To everyone that reads this list,

This was a momentary laps on my part. My
apologies were sent almost immediately to our Seneschal, our Baron and our
Baroness. Now I give my deep apologize to everyone else.
My complaint was worded badly and I missed the point that I was trying to
make. My sincere apologizes for the disturbance.

I have not been in the Raven's Fort
Brewers Guild for several years now. However, the hard work that these
people do is a major part of what drives this Barony forward. We
don't have many heavy or light fighters, we don't dance, we don't even travel to
other events very much. We do cook and brew, we do have a few strong
artisans and we do have a new college group. All of these
things that this barony excels in are nurtured by the very cluster of
devoted long timers that are panelized most by the arbitrary site
rules. The Brewers Guild is the most active guild in the Barony of
Raven's Fort, hands down. To say that they can not display their talents
at an event that is specifically designed for that reason is beyond
reason. It's one thing to
dictate safety rules and land damage control, but it is another thing to set SCA
event policy. Either say no alcohol or say the site is wet.
Deciding who and when alcohol is to be served at an SCA event
is jurisdiction of the SCA. It is still my greatest hope that our
local craftsmen will be allowed to present the fruits of their research at
Defender of the Fort.

Again, please excuse my clumsy
outrage.

Pax,
MARIVS

I would like to make a statement strictly as
an individual and a long time member of the Barony of Raven's Fort.

I feel that the land agent over stepped
reason when making up his arbitrary rules when it comes to on site
taverns. The rules seem to be directed at specific individuals for
personal reasons, rather than to correct any problems that has arisen in the
past or any breach of SCA or mundane law or any request
that the land owners themselves have made. Of course, we have no
way to know the desires of the land owners since the SCA has never been
allowed to deal directly with the land owners. The imbalance of
the site rule policy is notably demonstrated by the fact that
in the same period of time: the old Raven's Fort Tavern was
forcibly evicted (for fabricated infractions) by the land agent, the
current site rules were issued by the land agent and the on site "Mead
Hall" was built by the land agent. I will not presume to suggest a
solution to this dilemma of secrecy and whim. Perhaps the officers of
the Barony can facilitate a return to a fair site policy
that embraces the true spirit of our society.

That said, the Autocrat of the Defender of
the Fort event shall enforce what ever is handed up from the site rule
  dictator no matter how calculated.
