[Ravensfort] 10th C. viking shield

I just picked this up off the Lochac list:

It's a 10th C. Danish 32 inch round shield.
 From the photo it looks like it's made of
boards glued edge to edge

I'm tempted to try it myself.
It'd be an interesting experiment
seeing which of the medieval
wood glues worked best for making a
documentable period round shield

I wonder how thick it is...?
