                                   Douglas Mangum
           Principal Investigator for the San Jacinto Survey

       “Battlefield Archeology:  San Jacinto Discoveries 2009”

Mangum, archeologist with Moore Archeological Consulting, will deliver a presentation highlighting the very latest archeological discoveries at the San Jacinto Battlefield and adjacent property.  Hundreds of newly excavated artifacts have helped archeologists to identify the location where a mass surrender of Mexican troops occurred in the hours after the battle.  A number of artifacts recovered will be on display before the presentation.
