[Ravensfort] Populace issues - another thought

There are so many things that go on at Business/Officers Meetings especially getting ready for an event.  A summary is usually given at Populace.  I've seen meetings that took a while due to the sheer volume of info to go through.  I just don't see how a "brief" officers meeting after Populace will work.  Quite frankly I would be somewhat upset if I was the one that always had to travel.  I realize there are more officers living in Huntsville area however changing to a meeting after Populace is kinda like saying the Southern Part of Raven's Fort doesn't count enough to come here.

Populace is for meeting, visiting, learning.  Business/Officers Meeting is for taking care of things and getting it to a summary verison so members can be kept updated.  There have been good ideas and bad ideas presented at Officers.  That's where the kinks are worked out.  It is open to the members should they chose to attend.  Before I was an officer if something needed to be discussed I stepped outside.  

Sorry but I really don't like the idea of meeting after or before Populace.  It seems like shutting the door in someone's face if something needs to be discussed before it's presented to the populace of the Barony.

  I agree that the populace needs to be informed, but can we do sommat say like a brief report done by the B&B or schen and then ask the officer if they have anything to add to it at populace when the report is read?  Or the officers can read it but from things I've been learning about courts and such its best to let one person do the talking to keep things flowing.  As it is, had we had the gate class this populace, not that its going to be any easier next populace with Defender right around the corner, but we were pushing some serious time spent on talking about reports and other business and no time for any extra activities if we choose to do so.  If there are issues that need to be brought up with the populace than make it short and sweet and move on to sommat else that would require populace input and association with other members of the populace.

  these are my personal thoughts. 

  A single officers meeting needs to happen. This is an event where the officers have a chance to speak to each to other in private. This is necessary to the operation of a group this size. It not only lends itself to the purpose of the barony but it allows the leadership to give direction. There are a great many things that go on at an officers meeting that are  about the shear operation of the barony that take a great deal of time. I also believe there needs to be a populace meeting where folks are kept informed and can be given a voice on the very same direction. 

  For example, the officers look at a number of port o poty contracters. It is up to our officers to secure the best price and the best service. The populace needs to know, and if they have a issue can speak up about it. There are more such as land use, money (income/expences), crown issues, and reporting. These are all important things that yes must be done but the populace as whole needs not be part of it on  expence by expence or a phone call by phone call.

  I agree with Volod. We should think about having a populace in the 
  Southern region. It is true that our Barony extends far and wide across this
  mighty Kingdom.
  So I think we should keep Officers in the Southern Barony (with food) and we
  should hold populace there as well, maybe every 2 to 3 months.
