[Ravensfort] Submissions for the Quoth

The problem with supplying the Chronicler with a program is that when that person is no longer Chronicler they would have to remove the program from their computer to pass on to the new person. This would cause the loss of any documents written in that program unless all documents were copied onto a form of archives. Programs are registered to a specific person/location or at least every one I've used has been that way. When I send stuff to Devin I just cut and paste it into an email. All he has to do is cut and paste it into the Quoth format.

My heroine on her trusty steed !

Call me a purest, but I don't like downloading from the internet.
I have a brand new computer that I have so far only added programs by disc.
I try to use the most common programs so there won't be problems sharing info.
My wife uses it for her work.
I don't want downloads to automatically change settings, which they do sometimes.
  Or worse.
Is there anyway that the Barony could supply the Chroniclers office
with a word processing program ?
  Microsoft would be good.

  In service...,
  V NV

OK geek in me coming out....

Open office is a free open source software component that is JUST LIKE WINDOWS!! you can get it free online, just google open office. They have writers, spreadsheets, power points etc, all that JUST LIKE WINDOWS!! catch? ITS FREE!! and not only that but...TOTALLY COMPATIBLE WITH WINDOWS.

Devin, i'm surprised that even with open office if you get windows documents you cant open them. I can...I run open office on my lappy and can open up all the spreadsheets I need....

    Cheers!

    Hi Devin,

Would you please give me some information re. Open Office? I am not familiar with it and not sure how to obtain it, much less use it. As I said earlier, everything that I use at home and at work is in microsoft, so I would really not like to run into any snags (can we say Computer -Phobe?) . Let me know the best time to reach you and a good number to call you at and I will do that. Sometimes it's much easier than e-mail.

    Thank you so much,
Jalali, who just knows that it'll go BOOM!!
