There is also an app to do this through facebook.  But everyone who wants to be included will have to be on.  You will also find various free apps online to do this--you just have to enter the information, with a greater level of specificity giving you increasingly better results.

If I could get a list of towns from folks' postal addresses, I can put a headcount onto a map breaking down by county or whatever.  For instance, to my knowledge there are four barony members from Leon County, which sounds cool until you realize we're about 35-40 miles apart.  A county-by-county breakdown is better than nothing but a map with towns on it could be even better for networking, carpooling, etc.  The same could be helpful in utilizing the mentor idea for new members, guild gatherings, fighter practices, etc.  A mentor assigned to "newbies" is a great idea and it might be even more helpful if they live in the same area.

I break down our breed society's membership distribution by state/province (since we cover N. America and have no members in Mexico) and do the same for distribution of the horses.  It's not hard to do if you use Excel since it gives many sorting options.

Just a thought.

Greetings, That is an awesome idea and would be very interesting. Ideas on how to go about this project anyone? I believe our Seneschal can get access to such a list of members and their current addresses from the Kingdom.

Good morning, all!

I'd intended to ask a question at Populace but we had a lot of [other] ground to cover so didn't...

There was mention last night (and at prior meetings) regarding "centralized locations" for various functions of the Barony.  Figuring out the geographic center of the Barony isn't that difficult.  Has anyone ever figured out the membership distribution in the Barony?  If so, of whom should I inquire.  If not, I'd like to volunteer.  I am [probably] nearing the end of my part of the sewing project for Defender's list field... and it's too hot to ride!!!  This is the lull before the storm when the oldest kid (and possibly her kids) returns home to Ansteorra.

TIA,

PS -- Leon County may be adding more members to the Barony within the month (and adult and two minors (hopefully)) and the adult has a medical background...
