Greetings to all, Thanks for being patient while we travel immediately following Populace. I am still needing a replacement for a secretary to do the minutes. Our plate is very full now and if someone wants to take over the job of secretary of the meeting it would be appreciated.
Populace was again well attended with almost 30 members. The minutes are as follows-
HE Dom will get with Mr. January to make sure we are on the fire station's books to secure our meetings for 2012. She also will secure a date for our 2013 spring event in Feb.
We had 2 newcomers inquire about our group and Mistress Shanahan is working with them.
Rapier has been meeting with 3 fighters. They will meet every Sunday at noon at the gazebo in Huntsville.
Newcomer Chivalric practice is meeting the first Wednesday after Populace each month at the gazebo in Huntsville at 7pm. Our Knight Marshall and her deputies are looking at new sites near the Huntsville area for other future practices. Please watch the list for announcements for practices held each week at Candy Cane park in Conroe.
Our Chronicler needs a deputy. Please contact HE Chrystal if you are interested in this office. She would also like art work and each officer to send an article each month for the Quoth by the 25th of each month.
Our Herald has had several names and devices sent to Laurel's.
All of our guilds are active and meeting. We need a Minister of A&S as Lemoine needs to step down by Feb. 1 due to mundane life taking precedence right now. Please consider this office as we need it filled immediately. Send your application to the proper people soon.
Raven's Guild is resting right now until school resumes this month.
Bardic Guild had a combined bardic and archery meeting this past month which was well attended. They are working on a song and will meet again the last Sunday of this month at the fire station, as well as scribal's that day at 3 pm. A reminder will be sent out.
Brewer's continues to meet each weekend at the Lizard Keep in the barn. Reminders will be sent out as needed.
We discussed having a newcomer tourney at Defender and the idea was well received.

We will have a Gulf War pity party, off calendar /non event on Sat. Feb. 25 at the Stones. It will be a large fighter practice with each officer needing to organize their particular area of expertise for people to take part in. It will be a potluck thing with garb optional. Each officer is asked to try authorizing for Gulf War at this time. We will have one porta potty for those who need it. Camping is available that weekend and we will enjoy the bonfire that Sat. night if there is no burn ban. We all agreed that it should be a fun relaxed weekend to enjoy.
We will have an A&S display at Defender with populace vote being the deciding factor for the winner.
We discussed raising funds for our Barony. HE Brian will have a merchant table at Steppes Warlord in May. He is offering half of his table for those who wish to sell their wares. We are asking that people donate if possible some nice item for our Barony to sell. If you wish to make a profit please get with Brian as to how he would like the item marked etc. He is also asking people to consider sitting the table in order for him to get a break that day. This is a great opportunity for us to replenish our coffers as they are low. Please consider making, donating something nice to the Barony for this event. Our Barony's coffers need all of our help to make it healthy . We discussed that we all probably have something at home to donate or a talent we can share. Looking through your garb for something nice to sell was one of the options as well as jewelry, leather products etc. If you plan to sell for profit, please save your receipts. We also will try a silent auction at Defender and will need someone to run it.
HE Brian swore fealty to the B&B in a touching moment. He also gave the B&B the 'True List Field Post' for safe keeping , to take, and share at events the story of the post. He then told us all the story of the famous lightning strike of the very middle post of the list field, the weekend of the Investiture of David and Chrystal. He told of Vlad Carpots running out to the middle of the field to everyones horror during the storm saying, " Lightning never strikes twice in the same spot!" Some of us still treasure the little glass vial of splintered wood from this post as well. It would be nice to have those of us who have memories of this event to please share them with all of us on our list.
The meeting ended with Lady Irial of Clan Blackmoor surprised with her Raven's Fort Feather of Honor. Her three children Bayar, Boke and Connor were inducted into the ' Guardians of the Raven's Nest'. They will join the wonderful group of children we have in our Barony who work hard to ensure our future. We now have 7 children in this group including Amanda, Lee, James and Jessica.
These are the minutes as I have them. I know there are some who can add to this list . It would be appreciated.
YIS,
