Hello all,



I wanted to let you know that you have the authority to work with your
groups on cancellation of local meetings, events and practices.  You do not
need to ask for the kingdom’s permission to cancel- you already have it.



We are encouraging everyone to assess their own risk and determine whether
or not they should participate in SCA events at a local, kingdom, and
society level. As long as the events are not disallowed by governmental
health organizations, we are permitted to continue activities at this time. *It
is the duty of the Seneschal to continue monitoring governmental health
organizations to ensure we are in compliance*. *THAT BEING SAID*- no person
who is uncomfortable with gatherings at this time is expected to go to an
event, no matter the office held.



An activity still needs to follow SCA rules if it is to be held. There must
be a warranted officer *and* a marshal present for martial activities; this
marshal and officer can be the same person. Deputies can be appointed to
carry out a warranted officer’s position if needed. If there is demand for
a practice, and eligible deputies, I would encourage uncomfortable officers
to designate deputies to run the practices and / or activities. If there
are no eligible deputies, then we must cancel the practices. We cannot stop
persons from gathering ‘unofficially’ once the event is officially
cancelled. Guild meetings are technically unofficial and can be conducted
without officers present. Additionally, please consider online forums such
as Discord, Skype, and Zoom for meetings and classes.



First and foremost, please keep your group happy, informed, and
comfortable. Please try not to spread panic or disingenuous information



As always, please let me know if you need anything. Thank you all for your
service in these difficult times.
