There are places where corn is still concidered "pig food" and humans won't 
touch it.  When we lived in Spain I offered my maid some and she indignantly 
refused.  Another Spanish friend of mine who married an American said that 
his wife had to force him to try corn because he refused to eat animal fodder.  
Turned out he liked it.
