I have both autocrated and been a worker in other people's kitchen, and
feel this way about paying. If I don't do much, (like "guest star" and
come in take care of one course and don't hang around in the kitchen...
then I pay. But if I come in early and never leave the kitchen, help with
clean-up, etc, I don't pay cuz generally I'm sick of looking, tasting and
cooking the food. I also never go out of the kitchen until late mainly
because we don't always get more than 3 - 4 really good workers that you
don't have to worry about (Here make this). Until recently the kitchen
clean-up was also the person who cooked so it you were the main person
responsible for the feast, you also cleaned the kitchen as well. After
cooking an outdoor feast on where we made fishcakes ahead of them (about
400) it took my entire household a long time to eat fish again. Chicken
will do it to me as well... Maybe I'm strange but I generally eat things I
don't cook (the salad, bread and cheese, etc).
