What SORT of spice powder?  I can think of many period spices that come in
powdered form or could be combined, such as pouder douce and pouder forte.
 Remember that some of us are pretty much novices at this and don't have the
experience to know what spices were served with turnips in which cuisine.
Also, could you post the original?  I like to have the original receipt along
with my  redacted recipes.
