SC - Allergies!

Hi All!

We've been having this argument a lot lately here in Endless Hills. Our
biggest yet feast is coming up, and we have (reluctantly) decided that we
can't cater to individual dietary problems, and said so on the event copy.
The menu is available now, the recipes will be available soon, and that is
about as far as we can go. There are so many people with food allergies that
there is no way we can accomodate them all.

So why does this bug me? I'll tell you---It violates the Host/Guest compact
we enter into when we host a feast. I'm bugged when I can't accomodate my
guests. Hey! I just had a thought: For the severely allergic, could you be
placated by a special low-labor but pretty platter: Say, fruit, veggies,
bread, cold meat (chicken, or thinly sliced beef, maybe?) and cheese
(several options/types given)? I have to do this stuff for the royalty
mid-afternoon nibbles anyway. I could just make more..... Plus, I could make
it and chill it in the morning, to avoid the pre-feast frenzy. If it was
drop-dead gorgeous, I bet it would fly. What do you think?

Aoife (envisioning a peacock-tail type array of colorful stuff---here I go
redacting backwards again, starting with what I want to make, and then
trying to fit it into a period recipe! Bad Aoife! No chocolates for a week!
Next bright idea?)
