Sigh.

This is being discussed (usually knowledgably) on many lists right now:
scagc-l, Atlantia, Meridies, Calontir.

The policy, as written, has an exception for cooking.  The idea is that,
within the domestic US, there are two kinds of liability for alcohol:
serving it, and a different exposure when people imbibe at parties you host.
The SCA is attempting to make a distinction, because it cannot find
affordable liability insurance for serving.

The language specifically allows for cooking, for non-domestic US law as an
exception, and for private consumption at events.  It is being reviewed now
by the Grand Council, with useful input from a cast of thousands.  While the
Board *has* already passed it, it is not yet published and they are
evaluating commentary.

Let's not go off half-cocked.
