Very, very true! My wife and I have a tendency to pack a pretty
substantial lunch for events, because we have a six-year-old whose
belly doesn't want to hear about how the dayboard will be delayed by
court, or a meeting of the Order of the Generic Sash, and my beloved has
a tendency to pack for unforseen emergencies like the sudden arrival of
the envoy of the Great Khan with entourage in tow. This also comes in
handy in the event of delays or [kid-perceived] inadequacies in the
on-board feast.

This being the case, a crowd tends to develop around our picnics. The
big hit recently was the Aloyeaulx de Veau from Taillevent, with a side
of Composte.
