Curious. There was supposedly a rule (regulation?) that farmers in 
northern Sweden during the 19th century wasn't allowed to serve their 
workers salmon (litteral salmon here) more than 3 (IIRC) times a week. 
Since it was so cheep some would otherwise serve it 7 days a week.

But this is bordering on getting decidedly non-topical for SCA cooks.
