I have 4 refs for this recipe at hand (A Noble Boke of Cookry, & Harleian
279, Le Menagier, & this from Sloan MS. 1108) 2 cook the meat in water, 1
uses wine, & the Sloan MS. calls for honey.  As you say, this last is
probably a scribal mistake.
