SC - Food Handlers License

Long ago (well, back in March when I first joined this list) there was a
discussion where "armored turnips" were mentioned.

Since then, I have found that I reallu *love* turnips, so could the list
refresh my memory as to what is an armored turnip and provide a recipe?

Any other period turnip recipes will be appreciated as well.
