I have no idea about this, but I sincerely hope they didn't just pull them off 
tress trunks or pick them from the ground as there are some pretty poisonous 
toadstools in Britain.  Obviously the person who wrote the recipe lived to tell 
about it so he (she) must have know what they were doing - or were very 
lucky!;-)
