Since California has a reputation as the Land of Fruits and Nuts, it shouldn't
be very hard to find a flower....:-) Sorry!  Just kidding!  Try a health food
store, if they don't have them ask for any leads that they may have. 

Unfortunately commercial roses are treated with such hideous and potentially
carcinogenic chemicals that they, of course, are not an option. Given the
short time span  the best alternative would probably be in choosing another
recipe that didn't require rose petals.....:-(
