This is one of the things I try to do in Bryn Gwlad with the items I
bring to pot lucks. Usually I print the original recipe in large type
on a sheet of paper along with the redaction. I give both the original
source and where the redaction can be found, since I’m not to the point
of doing my own redactions yet. I also indicate changes I may have made
to the redaction as well as giving an ingredients list.

I have learned to leave the top half of the sheet empty of text. This
allows this area to be placed under the serving dish and allows the
information to take up a minimum area as the printed section now hangs
off the edge of the table. Some of our pot luck tables are so crowded
that it is hard to find room for a placecard.

My idea is to hopefully encourage others to look into doing period foods
by example without being pushy. So far I have taken home very little in
left over food.

I have also done this for mundane company potlucks and had people ask 
me for copies of my recipe and redaction.
