     Speaking as someone with allergies and who has taken tests and the like,
there is also the "prick you with a needle with gunk on it, go sit in the
waiting room for 20 minutes and let's see if you blow up" test which generally
works better than the scratch test.  Darned if I can remember the real name
tho...
