Okay, first off we'll all agree that what we mean by "Chivalry" is that code
of courtesy in the Victorian mode of thought. 'kay?

I don't think the term is vague. I feel that most of the members of the Society
are looking for an area in this world where honor and kindness are considered
virtues and a person's word still has meaning. In this sense every member of the
Society, and those other Societies who also emulate the Middle Ages, is bound
by codes of Chivalry (Victorian).

I don't consider codes of Chivalry and honor vague. Fair-dealing, kindness,
word-keeping, generosity, Golden Rule stuff. Playing by the rules not because
of the Marshalls but because it's the right thing to do. You don't have to be
a knight to live by these guidelines.

By making sure your assistants are fed, given manditory rest breaks, are dealt
with kindly, and THANKED. By offering food to those who can't afford it. By keeping
an accurate account of all expenses and not "taking a little off the top". By
giving the feasters the highest quality food you can. By not overcharging the feasters
and doing your best to make it an enjoyable expirience for all. By donating the
excess to local Food Banks or Homeless Shelters.

See? Courtesy, generosity, kindness. I think there are tons of opportunity for
chivalry amongst the cooks. After all: Food is Love. And we give it to everyone
on site. :-{)}

There you have it. Just an opinion.
