And a blue law is? (I find this fascinating)

Me too. I tend to ignore the fire restriction (not to the extent of starting
a fire) and never worry.

Although last year we went camping (mundanely for a change) and it started
pouring (gale type storm) so we just sat under a tarp, drank beer and
enjoyed the storm. Around 5 pm, while I was preparing balsamic grilled
veggies for dinner, my lord was in the outhouse and there came upon us the
LARGEST crack I've ever heard. It literally made the hair on the nape of my
neck stand up! Well my lord came charging out of the outhouse laughing
hysterically as the gentle in the other stall had ran out of it with his
pants down around his ankles trying to run hell bent for leather with a look
of pure terror on his face! What a hoot and was very sorry I'd missed it! We
later discovered, when the oddly dressed campers in a big truck, oh wait
they were the hydro people, came cruising thru our site, that a 80 year old
tree had been hit not 100' behind us and had knocked out the power for the
whole area! (small observation...who needs power in a park?). So my next
thought of course was, what if this had been one of those fire restriction
times <gulp>!

I guess given the geography of your area it makes sense to heed the powers
that be when it comes to little things like fire hazards. <smile>
