For those who wish to own their own copy, A Common Reader has it at

    -  $995 for the basic 20-volume hardbound set
    -  $295 for the Compact OED (the 20-volume set
       photocopied real small, bound in one volume,
       and with a magnifying glass provided)
    -  $395 for the CD-ROM version (available in
       both PC and Mac versions)

(They say one volume for the Compact OED; the version I have, acquired back
in '76, is two volumes.)
