What surprises me, if that from the general responses to Micaylah's 
attitude, I had assumed that Ealdormere (or at least Skraeling 
Althing) was crawling with vegetarians.  We are a little more than a 
week away from Feast of the Hare and out of 120 pre-registrations 2 
are vegetarian (and notified me over a month ago).

The non-vegetarian friends of vegetarians are far more militant than 
the actual vegetarians in my experience.  When I announced that I 
would not be cooking the starch dishes (rice, frumenty) in veggie 
broth unless I got a minimum number of vegetarians (although I 
stipulated that I would make enough in veggie broth for pre-regged 
vegetarians) there was a horrific outcry!  NONE of the people who 
protested were vegetarians.

I have a friend who's a vegetarian, and it has made me more aware, so 
I try to make sure that there are complete proteins in my feast for 
him, but I won't twist my menu for the sake of 2 people.  I'll 
cheerfully make him an extra dish or two (for the 2 who pre-regged), 
but he has done the same for me in the past (he made me some yummie 
pears in cranberry sauce since I couldn't have alcohol).  If you want 
me to cater to you, give me advance warning -- and as I told my 
group, I don't care if you've actually paid yet, if you're going to 
come and need special care, you'd better tell me ahead of time or put 
up with it.

 surprised at how squeemish her group is - they were horrified when I 
told them boar's heads are cheap enough I could have one per table!
