Scully plays fast and loose with his redactions. I don't know French so I
can't talk to his translations. However, when comparing his english
translation to his modern recipe, he often changes things, sometimes
quite a bit. Its best to use his modern recipes as a starting point and
review the original and make changes back to the original as necessary. I
also have other translations of some of the works he has translated and I
usually compare them to make sure they are similiar.
