Actually, when I was in school, we called English STandard the old measurements
(I would guess because of their origins) and Metric was the new improved system
that the rest of the world has adopted.  I am learning slowly as each thing is
needed (first milage, then heavy weights and finally liquid measure).  I still
have to look up the conversion for temperature.  this is my last feat.  Please,
be patient with me.  I was raised with the old, but I am learning the new.
