So what's weird here? That there are people who eat snake, that they do so
without shame (if I were gutting and skinning an animal I'd likely do it
outdoors if possible) or that there are still people on this planet in the
late 20th century who call this group of people Chinamen?

I've never eaten snake, although I've had several near misses. Most often I
see snake in Chinese restaurants in the form of a soup or a steamed casserole,
sort of a hotpot. I did have both baby eels and sea cucumber over the weekend, though.
