DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME!

heheh
Well, I was going to try the Chekynes with Garlic recipe tonight.
I did.
Twice.
First time: while I was up to my elbows in phyllo pastry (in Atenveldt, in
20% humidity) my daughter informs me that she is dying her hair, and the
grandbaby's crying. Meanwhile, the garlic I put in the microwave is
carbonizing. Black smoke pouring from the microwave. Okay, we'll start over.
Second time is far more successful.

My Redaction:
1 head garlic
16 chicken breast tenders
1/4 cup melted butter
4 sheets phyllo pastry
2 slices whole wheat bread
1 cup chicken stock
1/8 tsp ginger
1/8 tsp ground cinnamon
pinch cloves

cut one clove garlic from head and reserve
place head in small dish with 2 TBS water and cover
Microwave on high for 2 minutes (not 10 min)

Brush 1/2 sheet phyllo pastry with melted butter. Place two pieces of breast
on one short edge and roll up. After rolling all the chicken, place it on a
greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees until golden brown (about 30 min.)

sauce:
Toast bread, place in food processor with raw garlic and cooked garlic and
process until well blended. Heat chicken stock to a rolling boil, add
ginger, cinnamon, and cloves. Reduce heat to simmer. Add garlicky paste and
stir with a whisk until thick.

Place chicken on a platter and pour sauce over.

I served it with a ceasar salad and squash casserole. My mother, my daughter,
and I all fought over the last piece and Mom asked for the recipe.
