Yes, and you don't even have to be obvious about it. My barony is often
rife with small cliques and politics. I found it advantageous to pick
sub-autocrats from different cliques rather than just one or two. Spread
it around; involve people from as many groups as you can. If you pick
from just one or two groups the others sit back and say "let the other
cliques do it. It's their event". If your sub-autocrats are from various
groups, *they* will bring in their friends.
