Don't know if this is what you were looking for but growing up in the West 
Indies, at age 16, on my first job, my boss's secretary nearly cut my hand 
off for eating sunflower seeds the afternoon before a date with the 
governor's son.  She said that it would cause me to have "unhealthy" desires 
and I would be a temptation to the governors son!  ( As it turned out, he 
wasn't tempted by girls nearly as much as by alcohol and boys)    ;-)
