>>I found a web page that sells saffron for $47 an ounce. Is that a good
price? I get mine in much smaller packaging (metric even) and I'm not
doing well with conversions this morning.<<
I'm sure I didn't pay anything like that at the Pepperar's Guild at
Pennsic!
Looking at my new Penzeys Spices catalog, I find
Kashmir Mogra Cream (100% red saffron, India) Per 1/4 oz. $44.95.
Superior Quality Spanish Saffron (90% re saffron threads, 10% yellow
saffron styles) Per 1/4 oz. $33.95
So, maybe it is a good price and I'm confused about how much I bought as
it is so light in weight. Don't know the volume? bulk? of an ounce of
saffron. I seem to vaguely recall paying something like $8-9.00, and got
a good bit of the stuff.
Regards,
Allison
