Ok- I won't give the full person story, but the brief rundown
on my name is:

'ELaine de Montgris'- Elaine from any number of Elaine's in any
number of Arthurian cycles- Chretien to Malory. I especially like the Fair
Maid. 'de Montgris'- of Grey Mountain- because I grew up at the foot of
Mt. Rainier, and because there are several outcroppings of grey rock in
Normandy, where I'm ostensibly from.

My main alternate persona- which I use when I'm teaching- is
Father ABelard the Lesser. If you know anything about Abelard and Heloise
you are probably groaning right now. I figure since Laura is still less of
a man than Abelard was post, er, surgically... But I like the way the man
thought and admire his intellectual capacities. He's one of those on the
'If you could meet anyone from history, who whould you meet?' list.

Our parents give us our names when we are too young to object. But I think
our SCA name says alot about who we really are and who we want to be.

'Lainie (the name given me by the rabble I hang out with)
