Were it not for Master Adamantius' patience and work with me over the last 
year, the apprenticeship with Master Huen would not have happened. As his 
client, I had the privilege of seeing the SCA from a perspective that I had 
never experienced before. Both his gentle instruction and occasional stance 
of brutal bluntness were welcomed. It was he who solidified my stance that 
period cooking was good food and deserved wider acknowledgment and acceptance 
in the SCA. His techniques of spicing and redacting recipes are very similar 
to my own, reinforcing me to continue redacting. There are many more things I 
could write concerning Master Adamantius but the most important thing to me 
was finding in him a friend. Thank-you, Master.

Many people on this list such as Mistress Alys, Mistress Christiana, Bear, 
His Excellency Gunthar, His Grace Duke Sir Cariadoc, many more that I have no 
room to name, and of course The 3 Musketeers- Elysant, Phlip and Puck.

To finish, I want to say how proud I am to have Huen as my Master now. I hope 
that his faith in my work is justified. I know that his work to teach others 
about period SCA cooking is a goal for me to achieve. After our chats at 
Pennsic, I am sure that we will become better friends. 

It is these times, whether amid receiving a token the fanfare and pomp of 
court, or taking a quiet moment beside a country lake with distant harps 
gently massaging the rear or sitting at a glowing campfire making a new 
friend, that make the SCA worthwhile. Certainly it is at these moments that 
one can, if only for a brief moment, say; "Yes! I was there!"
