Apropos of the threads on OOP salads (??) made with these very
ingredients (lime Jello, marshmallow, cottage cheese (and more!)), I
was listening to the radio the other day and heard a song that had me
bent over double with laughter:
"Lime Jello Marshmallow Cottage Cheese Surprise", composed by William
Bolcom with Joan Morris, sung by Joan Morris, mezzo-soprano, with
William Bolcom on the piano
I've been searching for the words to post, and haven't found them -
yes, they are copyrighted - and while just reading them is funny,
Joan Morris's lusciously demented delivery has to be fully savored.
So, i will be searching for the recording. It centers around a
women's club and the (horrid) foods they serve at their meetings.
Anyone else have favorite food songs? Funny is good, but serious is fine.
There's one Medieval song (15th C.?) about a man's experiences in a
pub - but i don't remember any of it - the tune is quite poignant and
i thought that it was a sad and serious song until the singer
explained the lyrics to me.
OK, so i'm being OT, but, well, it's the holidays... OK, there's no excuse...
