Well, folks, 12th Night Feast was a success this past weekend. I was in
charge of the 'meat'. I served Venison Roast, Bear roast, Stewed Rabbits and
Salsify (i.e. Oyster Plant).

I was disappointed in the venison roast but it was the most complemented dish.
It was , IMO, rather tough but others didn't seem to notice. The bear roast
was fork tender and disappeared girst as it always does. :-) The rabbit was by
far the best of the lot, IMO. It tender and succulent. The sauce was great.

No, I don't have the recipes. I merely showed up on site with the meat and my
spice box and went to work. The original menu listed the salsify but within 1
hr, of posting it there were 13 people out of 42 who claimed an 'allergiy' to
oysters. I merely rewrote the menu and changed the name to Stewed Salsify and
it was eaten in entirety. :-)

This was a dish to pass affair so each of the other 41 people brought assorted
dishes ranging from pea salad out a Tournaments Illuminated to Macaroni Sald
and Carrot Cake from the local deli. There were over half of the dishes period
or period like though. Everything was wonderful!

One new person joined the Guild of St. Martha as an Apprentice and 2 new
students were accepted. And, yes, I recieved a shire token of appreciation,
the Silver Feather, for my past efforts at in the art of cookery. I was
thrilled to death despite my previous tokens of a Gold and a Silver Acorn for
service in that area. Along with my Golden Thistle from my household and my
Sycamore from Kingsom, this makes my 5th token/award that I've recieved for
the same work. I wonder if you can cash them in for the next level? <g>

A good time was had by all.
