Hi Valoise,

> I'm still trying to track down the elusive Rosti.

I did not find a Rosti-recipe either when I was looking for it a while
ago.

Then, I looked up the word in the "Schweizerisches Idiotikon", the Swiss
National Dictionary (up to now about 15 vols.): there was no quotation
from Anna Wecker and the quotations that were there were from a later
time (if memory serves).

Then, I looked up the chronology of the potatoe in the book of Guenter
Wiegelmann, 'Alltags- und Festspeisen. Wandel und gegenwaertige
Stellung, Marburg 1967' (section 3.1). According to that chronology, it
would come as a surprise to me to find a Rosti-recipe around 1600.
Anyway: we'll keep on searching ...

Cheers,
Thomas
