Just my two cents...
I just did 70+ of these silly things last week and my experience was that a 
dough made from four and butter and/or crisco works *much* better, kinda like 
a pasty sorta thing.  Not exactly the most heart healthy dish made that way, 
but who's keeping score...(then again, my feast for 70 had about 25 dozen 
eggs involved)  These little gems also freeze and re-heat VERY well, you 
can't even tell the difference :-)
