Phlip, we may need to take this to private e-mail, but the way it works
at Pennsic is that the first folk to sign up (starting at 8:45 am of
the day before) are the ones in the class. Now, since folk on this
List have expressed interest in going, and have been assured of a spot,
there are two possibilities. One is that they all be sure to get into
line at 8 am of the morning before so that they will be among the 15
who first hit the sign-up list.
The second is that you take the names of these folk and drop the
sign-up limit to a smaller number. If you have ten here, you take
eight on the list, for example, for a total of 18 (or whatever number
you wish). I think this might engender some negative feedback,
however, if there are folk on a waiting list and the Cooks' List folk
show up without having signed up at Pennsic. Perhaps not, but there is
the possibility. We have been really careful about not letting folk
"jump the line" or sign up early. That includes my table workers, who
either have to not work that shift in order to get into line or who
have to hope the class doesn't fill up.
Wanna discuss this privately or on the List?
