A couple of years back someone in Johannesburg (someone filthy rich)
spit-roasted an entire giraffe as the focal point to some sort of
fund-raising event.   There was a huge outcry about it - generally
considered to be exhibitionist, in bad taste, etc.  I must admit I'd rather
see the giraffe drifting around in the wild - lovely and elegant beasties.
Must have been a rather challenging spit-roast experience, though.
