This question came up on the "Merry Rose" (Atlantia) and I'm forwarding

 I was wondering if there was any particular special food that were made
that were specific to the courtship ritual...ie..if you made something
and gave it to someone it showed you really liked her...somthing along
those lines. A friend is getting married and wanted to do something
special for dessert and wanted to know if there where any specific
traditions that were used over the various time periods.
