My appologies to Ana if she thought I was in any way being critical of
her for posting the recipe. I was responding to her comment of:
"Its really not a primary source, but it seemed reasonable period.".

Before I joined this list I was unaware that sweet potatoes were native
to the New World or that yams were originally from Africa or even that they
weren't the same thing. I just thought that I would pass on that
information condensed from long previous discussions here. I also tried
to suggest that sweet potatoes might make a reasonable substitution.
I was simply trying to pass on some of what I had learned here. Call
it a personal fault if you will, coupled with being too blunt at times.

That was *not* my intention. While out-of-period recipes may or may not
go into the Florilegium, this has little connection to what this list
should or should not discuss. I have often saved various out-of-period
recipes for my own use or as examples of how more proveably period
dishes might be cooked. My only concern with a large number of non-period
recipes or non-topic discussions is the increase in volume of an already
busy list. And yes, I read all the messages, sooner or later.
